Vera M. Nichols

Vera M. (Shankle) Nichols, 85, passed away on Monday, May 11, 2009. Her husband, Edgar, pre-deceased her in 2000. Vera leaves 2 sons and their wives, Robert E. and Ida Nichols of Barre, MA, and Bruce R. and Deborah Nichols of Orange Park, FL. She also leaves 6 grandchildren; a brother, Raymond Shankle Jr. and a sister, Marion J. Sanders both of Boylston; nephews and nieces.

Vera was born in Worcester, daughter of June (Corkum) and Raymond F. Shankle, Sr. She graduated from Worcester Trade School and spent many years as a cafeteria worker at Tahanto Regional High School. She was a member of First Congregational Church in Boylston, the Boylston Graduates Association, and the Boylston Historical Society.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 14, 2009 at 7:00 p.m in Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln St. Worcester. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, May 14, 2009 from 5-7 p.m in the funeral home. Burial will be private.
