John W. Hollier

LAFAYETTE - A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. John W. Hollier, 60, will be held at 2:00PM on Thursday, February 24, 2011 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Scott with Father Tom Voohries officiating. Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of Lafayette on Wednesday, February 23, 2011 from 12:00PM until 10:00PM with a recitation of the Rosary at 7:00PM in the funeral home. Visitation will resume on Thursday, February 24, 2011 at 8:00 AM until time of services. Interment will follow services in Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery.

A native of Carencro and a longtime resident of Lafayette, Mr. Hollier passed away on February 21, 2011 at his sister's residence. John was a Brick Mason by trade and was employed by Breaux Masonary of Lafayette. He enjoyed spending time with his family; especially his grandchildren, hunting , fishing and cooking.

He is survived by his daughter, Stacey Oubre and her husband Tate; son, Chris Hollier and his wife, Ashley; grandchildren, Sydney Oubre , Seth Oubre, Madison Hollier and Aubrey Hollier all of Youngsville, LA; siblings, Joyce Begnaud, Eva Dell Cormier, Azelie Royer, Etheline Hubbard and her husband, Galyn and Maudrey Peterson and her husband, Dennis.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin Hollier and Mable Faul Hollier and one brother, LeRoy Hollier.

Serving as pallbearers will be Seth Oubre, Raymond Cormier, Jr , Randy Hollier, Lawrence Cormier, Galyn "Butch" Hubbard, Galyn Hubbard, Sr. and Dennis Petersen. Honorary pallbearers will be Brad Breaux and Jack "T-Jack" LeBlanc.
