Mearl J. Loggins Fogleman
CROWLEY - Mearl J. Loggins Fogleman, passed away peacefully in her Crowley residence surrounded by her loved ones on February 14, 2013. She was 83 years old. Born on June 27, 1929, Mearl was the daughter of Eddie & Hattie Loggins of Texas.
Mearl grew up & graduated high school in East Texas, moving to Crowley where her father worked for Humble Oil. On March 7, 1949, Mearl married the love of her life, Rudy E. Fogleman, Sr. and was his devoted wife of 31 years until his death in 1980.
Together they had 5 loving sons: Rudy, Jr., Mark, Kenny, Tim and Michael and owned and operated Fogleman Truck Line, Inc. until 1987, where she worked as bookkeeper for many years.
Family and Faith was her foundation and stronghold. Mearl led and will be remembered for living an extremely active, adventurous & independent life. She had an endless & tireless love of the outdoors with great respect for nature. Her many joys included hiking, bird watching, campouts, swimming, hunting, fishing & attending horse shows.
RV travel was her passion. Her extensive travels blessed her with many cherished friendships from across the U.S. Mearl was also an avid dancer, reader, donated to numerous charities & contributed greatly to the Catholic Church & schools.
She was an active volunteer for many years with the Crowley Mental Health, a member of Crowley Art Association, Crowley Town Club, Good Sam's Club, Loners on Wheels and a parishioner of St. Michael Church.
Mearl is survived by her five loving sons, Rudy E. Fogleman, Jr., wife Toni Trouille Fogleman of Crowley, Mark Fogleman, wife Lisa Smith Fogleman, of Oklahoma, Kenny Fogleman, wife Phyllis Bounds Fogleman of Pineville, Tim Fogleman, wife Jane Ledeoux Fogleman, of Crowley, Michael Fogleman, wife Becky Meaux Fogleman of Iota; her brother, Ed Loggins, wife Barbara Loggins, of Des Allemands, LA; she, "Grannie", leaves behind nineteen grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces & nephews.
Mearl is preceded in death by her parents, Eddie and Hattie Loggins; her soul mate and husband, Rudy E. Fogleman, Sr.; a sister, Millie Loggins Felhman; two granddaughters, Paige A. Fogleman and Cari J. Fogleman; and one grandson, Rudy Linscombe.
The pallbearers will be her grandsons, Kenny, Jr., Todd, Ryan, Troy, Blake, Alex, Jace, and Travis Fogleman.
Visitation will be held at Geesey-Ferguson located at 301 N. Ave. F., Crowley, LA, on Monday from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 8 a.m. to the time of service. Fr. Alan Trouille will lead a Vigil Service at 6:30 p.m. followed by a rosary led by Sr. Justina Baker then a eulogy will be presented by Lyle Fogleman, Jr. Monday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at St Michael the Archangel Catholic Church. Officiating for the services will be Fr. Mikel Polson, pastor of St. Michael Catholic Church with Fr. Alan Trouille concelebrating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Crowley, LA.
