Lauranell Schexnayder Obituary
Native of French Settlement, resident of Gonzales passed away on October 11, 2012. Lauranell was an avid collector of Magnolias, and a member of the Holy Rosary Ladies Auxillary for 30 years. She is survived by her beloved spouse: Bernard Babin; 4 sons and daughters in law: Ernest Adam Schexnayder, Percy Joseph Schexnayder Jr and Leslie, Brian Joseph Schexnayder and Marlene, Ryan Joseph Schexnayder and Tammy; 2 brothers: James Lambert, Willie Paul Lambert; 11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and a great grandson on the way. Preceded in death by husband: Percy Schexnayder Sr.; Parents Nevie Millet Lambert and Adam Lambert; son: Jeffery Schexnayder, sisters: Nucy Kling, Romona Lanoux; brothers: AJ Lambert, Valmond Lambert. Services will be held on Friday, October 12, 2012 from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm and resume at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, St. Amant, La. on Saturday, October 13, 2012 from 8:30 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am. Interment to follow at Holy Rosary Catholic Church Cemetery. The family wishes to offer a special thanks to the doctors and staff of St. Joseph Hospice. I didn't have the opportunity to know you very long, just a few short years but you welcomed me into your family on the very first day. The thing I remember about you was the enormous energy you had and the endearing smile that you gave to others. You always made others feel good with your laughter and your energy. No matter how bad someone may be feeling, when they would leave you presents, they would be feeling a whole lot better. Thank you for that. You surely will be missed.

I was the little girl next door that played football in the yard with the Schexnayder boys. I am very thankful for growing up next door to a special lady that always had a smile on her face. I am very blessed to have had an opportunity to visit and pray with Mrs. Nell before her passing. I would just like to offer my deepest condolences to Mr. Bernard, Ernie, Percy, Brian & Ryan and your families for your loss. Mrs. Nell will be very much missed, but I am blessed to have known her. Today we buried an Angel, one that will remain in my heart forever. Nell was such a sweet, kind, and loving woman. I will keep the stories she told me in my memeory forever. I will miss my phone calls just to say "HI"!You will always remain a part of my life, and as promised to you ill take great care of dad like you asked. I love you!! Rest in Peace sweet Nell.

I am thankful that I grew up with Mrs. Nell and her family being a great part of my life. I remember all of the fun times we had and how she was an inspiration to me.
