Anita Finie Obituary
Anita was born on December 7, 1924, in Warsaw, Poland. She later immigrated to the United States and married Phillip Finie and was blessed with two sons.
They lived on Catalina Island from 1953 to 1974. Some of their best times were on the island. The song "26 Miles" sang to her soul.
She spent her life devoting her time to help others. She was a Registered Nurse and actively involved with Child Help USA and the Catholic Church. Anita also created multiple scholarships at several universities as she greatly valued education. Anita was generous, smart and very loving.
We celebrated her life Wednesday, January 16, at the Sacred Heart Chapel at Loyola Marymount University.

Such an impressive woman! she has left me with many memories from her relationship with us here at Saint Joseph's College, Maine. Her early life in Poland was freighted with horrendous experiences, but she rose above them all and brought so much joy to others. It is a privilege to have her among our friends and benefactors.
