Sharon Cross Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Memorial Park Funeral Home & Cemetery on Feb. 6, 2026.
Sharon Gail Cross, a resident of Cordova, TN, was born in Culver City, CA on 11/21/1956 to J.T. Daniels and Bernita Jo Howard Daniels. She departed this life for her eternal home on January 29, 2026. She was 69 years old.

Sharon was raised in Steele, Missouri and was a proud graduate of South Pemiscot High School (class of 1975). She went on to graduate from Freed-Hardeman University in 1979 with a degree in Home Economics Education.

In June 1979, she married the love of her life, Jerry Cross, and they made their home in the Memphis area. In 1990, Sharon and Jerry were blessed with the birth of their daughter, Kayla, who filled their lives with joy. Julian Stanz joined the family as Kayla's husband, and Sharon affectionately referred to Kayla and Julian as "the kids."

Sharon was a lifelong teacher. She taught home economics and then dedicated a large part of her teaching career to adult education. Her recent work was focused on tutoring children. She enjoyed being a homemaker, sewing, cooking, and caring for others.

Sharon devoted her life to serving the Lord. She was an active member of the Park Avenue Church of Christ for the last 46 years and considered everyone there to be family.

Preceding her in death are her mother and father. Left to cherish her memory, are her husband, Jerry Cross of Cordova, TN; daughter, Kayla Stanz (Julian), of Cordova, TN; Her sisters, Laura Daniels of Henderson, TN; Darla Pritchett (Roger) of Ash Grove, MO; Angie Martin (Todd) of Cabot, AR; and Cindy Booker (Heath) of Oxford MS. Sharon also leaves many nieces, nephews, and cousins who were very dear to her.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Park Avenue Church of Christ with minister Dr. Dana Baldwin officiating. A family visitation and burial will be held on Monday, February 9, 2026.
