Daniel Cross Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 21, 2026.
Daniel (Dan) H. Cross was Born on October 3, 1944, in West Stewartstown NH. He died peacefully on February 13, 2026, at the age of 81 in Bravard County, FL, surrounded by family. He is preceded in death by his parents Gwendolyn Gilberta (Ellingwood) Cross and Herman Royce Cross Jr., his siblings Nancy Elaine Frizzell, and James Bradley Cross, and his son Peter John Applebee.

Dan is missed and mourned by his wife of 61 years, Bonnie Lee (Sutton) Cross and their daughter, Jacqueline Cheryl Cross (Sarter). He is also missed by his remaining siblings, Randall Earnest Cross, Carol Sue (Cross) Reilly, and Peggy Lee (Cross) Fedele as well as all the Cross and Sutton family members.

Dan was a multi-talented man and a jack-of-all-trades. He loved hunting, fishing, camping, logging, and gardening. He was happiest with a chainsaw in his hand. He always had stories to tell about phases in his life. He even authored a book titled "The Hunting Book".

His favorite place on earth was in his tiny house; a 400 square foot cabin he milled the wood for, and he helped build on Mount John in Holland, Vermont.

It is not easy to tell the whole story of a life well lived for 81 years! We know Dan left an imprint on many lives and we would love to hear some of those stories. We invite you to click on the Tribute Wall tab on the web sit of Jenningsmcs.com/obituary/Daniel - Cross to share a memory you have with Dan.

We also appreciate all the love and prayers sent our way. We were blessed to have a celebration party with Dan in 2024 in Vermont while he was still healthy enough to enjoy friends and family. We will not have any other services.
