Betty Joy Asberry, 83, of New Castle, went home to be with the Lord on the afternoon of Thursday, September 2, 2021 at home.
She was born March 23, 1938 in Salt Lick, Carter County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Rufus Isom and Madge (Trumbo) Isom.
Betty loved the Lord and was a devoted Christian. For 59 years she belonged to the North 14th Street Church of God. Betty loved to sing at church. She married the love of her life, Conway Asberry, on February 27, 1954. For many years, Betty worked at Harvest Market retiring as an office manager. She loved to cook, read, garden with her husband and spend time with her family.
Those left to cherish Betty's memory include her husband of over 67 years, Conway Asberry; three children, Terry Asberry, Debby (Danny) Isaacs, Jamie (Melissa) Asberry all of New Castle; grandchildren, Renee (John) Brown, Jessica Gardner, Jayson (Amy) Madden, Joshua (Renee) Madden, Rusty (Hannah) Asberry, Dusty (Megan) Asberry, Joynna Asberry, Mandolyn Grace Asberry, Justin (Chandra) Asberry and Mike Isaacs; great-grandchildren, Alexa, Corbin, Isaac, Eliza, Gabby, Jacob, Ally, Dezirae, Austin, Abbey, Rosalee, Mason, Dominic, Cody, Dawson, Emmerly, Naomi, Raven, Scarlett, Brooks, Michael Dawn, Janet, Dylan, and Carolyn; great-great-grandchildren, Cali, Grace, Penelope, Averi, Holdyn, Robin, Rainy, Aubrey, Chloe, Robbie, Adria, Zach, and Luke; two sisters, Paula (Mark) Hayworth and Bea (John) Whisler, and many nieces and nephews.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, three children, Connie, Kerry, and Jeff Asberry; two grandsons, James Gardner and Scott Erick Madden; two great-grandsons, Grant Madden and Robin Isaacs; four brothers, Rufus Isom Jr., Johnny, Tim, and Vance Isom and one sister, Myrtle Murphy.
Services will be held on Monday, September 13, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Northside Church of God, 927 N 14 th Street, New Castle, IN 47362 with Pastor Phil Brown and Rev. Elwood Evans officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call Sunday from 2 – 6 pm at Sproles Family Funeral Home
Memorial contributions may be offered to the Henry County Shiner's Club through the funeral home.

I am so sorry for the loss of Betty, she was a wonderful, sweet, caring woman. She has known my family since before I was born, she has a wonderful family and I am so sad to see that she has passed away. Sending prayers for comfort during these difficult times.
