Victor Malench Obituary

Victor B. Malench Sr.

AGE: 84 • South Vineland

Victor B. Malench Sr., 84, of South Vineland and Avalon Manor, NJ, "lived" until he died suddenly on April 20, 2015. Victor was born in Cavareno, Trento, Italy to Joseph and Viola (Bott) Malench on August 2nd, 1930 and at the age of 22 months came with his family to America. They moved to South Vineland and purchased a home and farm where he would continue to work for the rest of his life. He graduated from Vineland High School Class of 1948. In 1955, Victor married Catherine, the love of his life. He was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, and elated great-grandfather; warm hearted and generous brother, uncle, Godfather and friend. He was passionate about farming, fishing, wood turning and hunting. He was a long-time member of the Bobby Bee Hunting Club, First State Wood Workers Guild of DE and DelVal Turners Club. He was a devout member of Christ the Good Shepard Parish, St. Isidore the Farmer Church. Victor will be sadly missed and will be fondly remembered by everyone as the master of all trades who would happily share his wealth of knowledge and experience. As he would always say, "I have forgotten more than you will ever know."

Victor is survived by his loving wife Catherine (Dutra) Malench of 60 years. He is also survived by his five children: daughter Kathleen Shaw and husband Bruce; sons, Victor Jr. and wife Jacqueline, Joseph Sr. and wife Jamie, Mark and wife Melody and Christopher and wife Denise; eight grandchildren, Joseph Jr., Christie, Tyler Nelson and her husband Scott, Kali, Anthony, Courtney, Joshua and Bethany; great-grandchild Liam Nelson; sister and brother-in-law Marie & Ronald Franceschini Sr.; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his parents and his sister Rita and her late husband Norman Chini.

A Funeral Home Visitation will be held on Friday evening from 6pm to 8pm at Rone Funeral Service, 1110 East Chestnut Avenue, Vineland, NJ and a Church Visitation will be on Saturday morning from 9am to 10am followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 am at Christ The Good Shepherd Parish - Church Of Saint Isidore The Farmer, 1655 Magnolia Road, Vineland.
