Morel Pagano Obituary

Morel "Mo" Pagano

AGE: 86 • Newfield and Millville

Morel "Mo" Pagano, 86, of Newfield and Millville, passed away peacefully at Inspira Medical Center on February 18, 2016, after a brief illness. Mo was born in Newfield and was a life long area resident. He was an Army veteran, serving as a Sergeant in the Korean War. Mo was a Union bricklayer working over 40 years out of Local 5.

But Mo's true passion was the arts, painting and music. He loved to listen and also collect jazz recordings. His strong suit was painting, working in acrylic, oil and watercolor. Mo had many showings in the RRCA in Millville and also Gallery 50 in Bridgeton. He graduated from the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in 1961. Affectionately known as Millville's Renaissance Man, he was always the gentleman, dapper and dressed to the nines, adored by the women and admired by the men. He always had a smile, a twinkle in his eye, and a great sense of humor. Those who knew and loved Mo knew he had a devilish streak and could be quite the imp!

Mo is survived by 2 sons: Paul of Florida and Marc (Elizabeth) of Newfield; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Elizabeth.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 23, 2016, at 11 AM in the Rocap Shannon Memorial Funeral, where friends may call from 10 AM. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, Newfield. Memorial donations in Mo's memory may be made to: Riverfront Renaissance Center for the Arts (RRCA), 22 North High Street, Millville, NJ 08332. Written condolences may be sent to: [email protected], www.rocapshannon.com or snjtoday.com

My. I am just learning this news today. My heart weighs heavy with you Paul and Marc. I served Mr. Pagano at a local convenience store for many years. He talked of you all with a twinkle in his eye. I will never forget him and his sharing recipe of his special clam sauce he said he made on special occasions. He was an extraordinary man full of light. I am honored he served our country. May he rest in peace.

Paul and Marc, our deepest sympathies are with you during this time of loss. I have so many fond memories of your parents. Always enjoyed Mo's great cooking and the talented artist that he was. I have a few of his paintings and I will treasure them, especially the ones of my dad, "Uncle Tom." Love, Rosalie and Joel
