Patrick Bayait Obituary
Pat was born in Morristown, N.J., on April 9, 1934, a son of the late Albert A. Bayait and Sarah McShane Bayait. He was a graduate of Morristown High School Class of 1952 and in early years was employed as a cook at the Morristown Hospital. On Sept. 24, 1955 Pat married the former Agnes "Aggie" Emma Ambs. Pat and Aggie owned and operated the Candy Kitchen Restaurant and bowling lanes in Sommerville, N.J., for a number of years. In 1971, the couple moved to Towanda and opened the P & A Restaurant on Route 6 in North Towanda which they operated for many years. They subsequently operated a private personal care home in Rome, Pa., until their retirement. He was preceded in death by his wife on Dec. 27, 2001.
Pat was a devoted communicant of SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Towanda.
He is survived by: his children: Pat and Pam Bayait of Waverly, N.Y., Joan and Ed Bennett of Plattsburg, Mo., Joe Bayait of Johnson City, N.Y., Ann and Philip Dickerson of Towanda, Mark and Bonnie Bayait of Binghamton, N.Y., Theresa Bayait of Scranton, Pa.; 12 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; brothers: Arthur Bayait and wife Teresa of Morristown, N.J., Francis Bayait and wife Diane of Succasunna, N.J.; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Suprick; a granddaughter, Gisella Suprick; sister, Mary Fackino; and brother, Albert Bayait.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Maryott-Bowen Funeral Home, 217 York Ave., Towanda, Pa., where Recitation of the Rosary will be held.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, April 8, at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Third Street, Towanda, Pa.
Interment will be in SS Peter & Paul Cemetery, North Towanda Township, Pa.,
The family suggests that memorial contributions may be directed to SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 106 Third St., Towanda, PA 18848 in Patrick's memory.

My grandmother was Mary Kathleen Teresa Ann Bayait Fackino (sister to Patrick Bayait), my mother is Rose Mary Fackino (Niece). We send our deepest condolences and prayers.

I am so very sorry to hear about "Patman". He was a wonderful man and I feel blessed to have known him. I always enjoyed visiting with him, I loved to hear his stories of the restaurants he and Aggie ran. You could tell he loved what he did. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Hold onto one another and draw your strength from each other during this time. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. May God be with each of you. Joan, I lived near the P&A, behind Yoders Tire Service and visited the place almost daily! I went to school with Karen also. I am sorry to hear of your dad's passing. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
