William L. "Bill" Jayne

William "Bill" L. Jayne, age 66, of 352 SR 367, Laceyville (Silvara), passed away early Saturday morning, Jan. 5, 2013 at his home.

Bill was born in Kingston, on Aug. 3, 1946 the son of Lloyd "Tommy" and Lolita Holdren Jayne of Floral City, Fla. formerly of Laceyville. Growing up in Laceyville Bill attended Wyalusing Valley High School.

He was employed at the Proctor and Gamble Paper Plant in Mehoopany, from 1972 until his retirement in 2001. After his retirement he was self employed doing custom sawing and making pallets.

He loved being outdoors and taking great pride in making his home look its very best. He was especially fond of his wood working.

Besides his parents he is survived by his wife, Sandra "Sandy" Carter Jayne, whom he married on June 3, 1967; his son and his wife Derrick W. and Maryann (Lutton) Jayne of Retta; his brothers Alvin Jayne and his wife Neila of Delran, N.J. and Rodney Jayne and his wife Michelle of Marlton, N.J.; his sisters Renee Chesner and her husband Steve of Meshoppen and Linda Tewksbury of Laceyville; as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013 at the Sheldon Funeral Home, Main St., Laceyville, with Rev. Charles Bishop of the Transue Community Church and Rev. Richard Card of the Silvara United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow at the Beaver Meadows Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013 at the funeral home.
