We met Suzie and Temp in Winnetka, spent many a lovely evening with them discussing life and travel. We met and traveled with them in Europe several times; most memorably in Provence and northern Italy. We also visited them in Lyme, as they visited us in California. A friendship that began in common interests developed into the warmest relationship humans can share. We miss them both to a degree that is difficult to describe. They are together now and all is right with the universe again.

Dear Lisa, Suzanne, and Maren,
I was so sorry to learn of your mother's death, which I saw in the Winnetka Talk. Certainly the end of an era! I remember her so vividly in St. Joe, with you three darling little girls running through the woods and playing on the beach. And then, when Suzanne was our wonderful babysitter when she was at New Trier and our kids were little (and was there for the birth of Reed in the middle of the night!), I would talk to your mom when I'd call to talk to Suzanne or when we'd pick up or drop off Suzanne after a babysitting gig. Suzie was always a lovely, soft spoken, kind, and generous person and she and your dad were a wonderful pair. They were a half generation older that us and were always role models for a wonderful family and a devoted couple. Just wanted you to know that we are thinking of you and your family and sending our love and condolences. Fondly, Blakely

What a pleasure it was working with Temp on the land trust, but I remember the kindness and heart of Suzy so well. A sad time.

We recall so fondly seeing Suzie and Temp walking on Birchmill Road near their lovely home. Suzie always had a warm smile and kind words. We will miss her gracious presence. With most sincere condolences, Jean Miner and Jim Malone
