Guy was a warm, charming, elegant gentleman with a sly sense of humor and a sparkling wit. It was a delight to be in his company with his beloved Dorothy. We are among the many who will miss him.

My wife and I feel privileged to have had a few, too few, dinners at Salmagundi with Dorothy and Guy, where he always insisted that we speak French; he had mastered the language, which was for centuries la langue de la diplomatie.

I met Guy & Dorothy through my sister Phyllis Gangel Jacob a long time friend of the couple. Always cheerful and active we celebrated many occasions together both in the City and out on the East End, including their New Years Eve Costume Ball, that was "special". It was a thrill to walk past a window on Madison Ave. or into a gallery in Palm Beach and see a "Wiggins" painting on display. Good times. May your memories comfort you.

I had the privilege of meeting Mr. Wiggins in Old Lyme when he visited Lyme Art Association in April of 2017, for a meeting with the Salmagundi Club. In particular it was fascinating hearing his memories of being at the exhibition at Lyme Art Association in 1924; and of his stories of the founding artists of the Old Lyme Art Colony. I remember a story he told of going with his father to visit the Tonalist Artist Bruce Crane in the hospital; Crane laying in bed describing the pictures he was envisioning painting next.
Mr. Wiggins critiqued one of my paintings while he was at LAA that day; and I remember him enthralled by a large painting by Leif Nilsson. It was very nice meeting him that day in Old Lyme.
