Phillip Lane Baggett, age 78, of Cunningham, TN, went to be with the Lord on July 10, 2017, after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease.

He was born on July 22, 1938, in Cunningham, TN to the late Louie and Eva Baggett. He is also preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Dionne Miller Baggett and his brother, Edwin Baggett.

He is survived by his two daughters and caregivers, Kim (Brian) Taylor of Cunningham and Kaye (Keith) Hunter of Clarksville. Grandchildren are Bradley (Amanda) Taylor of Clarksville, Kyle Phillip Taylor of Cunningham, and Kayla Dionne Hunter of Clarksville. Great-Grandchildren are Timothy Taylor and Oliver Taylor. Surviving sisters are Betty Ann Davidson of Cunningham, Patsy Nicholson of Clarksville, and Linda Sue Simpson of Clarksville.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 13, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. at the Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel with Brother Steve Kirby and Brother Bobby Welker officiating. Burial will be at Marion United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday, July 12, 2017, from 1:00-7:00 p.m. and Thursday, July 13, 2017, from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.

Phillip was a retired manager at Vulcan Corporation. He was a member and former Elder at Shiloh Church of Christ. He was also a member of the Central Civitan Club, past board member of Cunningham Volunteer Fire Department, and former member of the Clarksville Beekeeping Association. He was a 1956 graduate of Montgomery Central High School and attended Austin Peay State University. He enjoyed church and family fellowships, farming, gardening, and beekeeping. Phillip was a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and a friend to all.

Kim and Kaye want to thank everyone for their prayers and support throughout Phillip's illness. They also extend their appreciation to Walking Horse Meadows Alzheimer's Community and AseraCare Hospice.

Pallbearers will be Steve Nicholson, Donnie Harrison, Don Castner, Rusty Evans, Mark Greene, Jason McClain, Josh Nicholson, Wayne Corn, and Alan Dabalos. Honorary pallbearers will be Members of Shiloh Church of Christ, Members of Central Civitan Club, James Marvin Miller, Paul Miller, Harold Ray Baggett, Henry McCullough, and Ed Ritter.

At the service, family members will be wearing purple (which is the color for Alzheimer's Awareness), as a tribute to Phillip's brave fight during his illness. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 4825 Trousdale Drive, Suite 220, Nashville, TN 37220 or Shiloh Church of Christ, 3000 Highway 13, Cumberland Furnace, TN 37051.
