ROBERT J. "BOB"
BRIGHTWELL, 81

BARTOW - Robert J. "Bob" Brightwell, age 81, of Bartow, formerly of Winter Haven, passed away Friday, February 15, 2013 from complications of Parkinson's Disease. A native of Winter Haven born December 27, 1931 to Arthur and Edna Hicks Brightwell, he graduated from Winter Haven High School in 1950. He retired from the United States Department of Agriculture after 43 years of service. At retirement he was Bureau Chief of the Citrus Division for the State of Florida. After moving to Bartow, Bob and Peggie attended the Highlands Park Church of the Nazarene until he entered the Highland Lakes Center.
Bob is survived by his wife; Georgia "Peggie" Brightwell; sons, Jeff Brightwell (Eileen), Scott Brightwell (Debi); grandson, Robbie Brightwell; step-sons, Terry Chaney and Tim Chaney (Peggy); four step grandchildren and four step great grandchildren. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Edna Brightwell and his brother, Ramon Brightwell and his special aunt, Helen Hicks.
Services will be private. In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made to a charity of one's choice. Condolences to the family at www.whiddenmcleanfuneralhome.com
