Rest in Peace Abner. I am very sorry to hear of your passing. I have truly enjoyed our visits at the shop and I feel privileged and honored to have known you. I thoroughly enjoyed the awesome war time stories you experienced and your witty demeanor. You made me and my family feel as true friends. Always checking in with me on how my son was doing in the service and how the grandbaby was doing. You were a true patriot who loved his country. You will be truly missed. Prayers and blessings to Mary jane and family. Rest in PEACE my dear friend

Please accept my sincere condolences for the loss of your loved one, Abner. May (1 Thessalonians 4:14) bring you some comfort in knowing that there is a future for the ones we have lost in death. May the God of all comfort strengthen your family during this time of deep sorrow.

I knew Colonel Aust through the American Fighter Aces Association. It was good to hear history lessons first hand from someone who was there.

I hate to see you go Sir. I am thankful that I met you and am still shocked that I was that lucky! Who else "falls over" someone who flew in the same squadron as a family member 60 years later? You were kind to me and I admired your sense of humor. I enjoyed hearing your stories and admired your "quickness" Sir. I pray that you have found rest and your heart has found peace.
Proud to call you my friend Colonel.
