Los Dos Gilberto's were my Dad's favorite band and now mine too. Dad had Cancer drove him to treatment we jammed to Los Dos Gilberto's , it always cheered him up .He use to tap his hands on his leg and sing along with the songs. Precious memories for me. My deepest sympathy to the Garcia family. It's a sad day for the music world. I had the honor of meeting Mr. Gilberto Garcia in the early 90's. We contracted him to do both of my daughter's quinceneras in 91 and 94. He put on a awesome performance. Truly a professional entertainer. He leaves us with beautiful memories we will always cherish. My condolences to the Garcia Family. Back in 1962 I turned an ICE HOUSE into a dance hall called THE TROPICAL INN in MERCEDES, TEXAS. LOS DOS GILBERTOS would pack the hall everytime they played and He was never late and always kept his word.

Garcia was a true gentleman, a great musician, and leader to one of the best if not the best Conjunto band I have heard. It will not be the same without him. Had the privilege of meeting him while working @ Omega music mca tx in the early 80's.
Mr. Garcia was a true gentleman, good person and down to Earth.
