Oh, such sad news was Weige's passing! It's so unfair that a man with such a zest for life be taken from our world far too soon. I have so many thoughts and memories of Weige (and the entire Parr family) over the years, and every one is a good one. May he rest in peace and may the Lord comfort us all who are left to mourn. Much love to Donna, Kevin, Brian, and families.

Dear Donna and Family
I was so saddened to see that Rich had died. He was my advisor when I was in Graduate school at Central and had a big influence on me. As an older graduate student I appreciated his understanding and his depth of knowledge as I worked through my program.

There was no better friend or man than Weige'. He always was so upbeat and I loved his expression, "I am just a slice of heaven" when you would ask him how he was doing....he always invited us to all events and will be truly missed. May Donna hold all their loving years in her mind and smile, because you know he is smiling back down at her and all his family and friends! You were a gem, Weige!

Donna, Brian, Kevin and family,
You all are a second family to me, and Weige was such a large part of my fondest memories of being at the house and doing things with the boys as they were growing up. To this day I know that anything positive that I have done as a parent to my own son, I learned from watching Weige and Donna raise their boys. I am proud to have called Weige my friend. My heart and mind have been flooded with memories of yesteryear. I hope we can all be together again in the future and share with one another, knowing that Weige's spirit will be watching and listening. I love you guys!

Any day I saw Weige on campus, at "the Spot", on some professional trip, at a ballgame, it was a great day. He was special and always made the folks around him feel special without even trying. That was his magic. "People helping people"; he was all about that. Thanks for the laughs, your valued opinions, your special presence in the lives of all who knew you well. Carlotta and I will miss you a great deal but that New England accent will run through our minds, and when it does, we will smile. Donna, Brian, and Kevin, can't tell you how sorry we are for your loss. Hang in there the best that you can.

Weige was a person who added so much to the CMU community. I knew him through the Mt.Pleasant Striders Running Club. My favorite memory is sewing home run at noon every day with Horns, Kim, John and Ron Green picking up pop cans along the way so the crew could spend them at then of the "seaspn". Rich will be missed.

Dr. Parr was one of my professors about 20 years ago. Definitely one of my favorites. He clearly loved what he did and I learned so much from him. For years after I graduated from Central, he always remembered me when I would see him at basketball games and went out of his way to ask how things were going. His family is in my prayers.

My most sincere condolences to Dr. Parr's family. Of all my CMU professors, he was my most favorite one of all. An excellent professor, person with a wonderful sense of humor. Had the privilege of working with him as part of the CMU internship program in Muskegon and always looked forward to his site visits. I will always remember him and what I learned from him with a daily reminder as I work for same hospital where he was born St. Luke's Hospital, now known as Southcoast Health, in New Bedford, MA.

I am saddened and sorry for the loss of Weige. As a long time family friend and probably my parents closest friend he will be missed tremendously. Weige gave me the nickname "Therm" when I was a kid that my dad's cronies still call me today. I will think of him every time I hear it. Bless his family and all his friends as they grieve his passing. Weige you will be missed.
