I was introduced to Moonyeen by Steven Egler in 1999. They, of course, faculty colleagues in the CMU School of Music. For many years I, with Steven, would join Moonie and Mary Keesgan, another CMU School of Music faculty, for Thursday dinner at the Brass Cafe. She gifted me with several of her lovely stain glass window hangings. I was a guest in her home on several occasions. One I especially remember was when she had an afterglow for the Russian flutist, Maxim Rubtsov, after he performed at the CMU Music auditorium. When I was taking a journalism photography class at CMU she kindly let me make some photos of her in her home doing her stain glass craft for an assignment, one of which I am posting with this remembrance of mine. Moonyeen was a talented, gifted, friendly, and gracious lady I was privileged to call friend.

I had Dr. Albrecht as a freshman in music theory. A wonderful and interesting teacher who made learning fun. She will be missed!

I'm truly saddened to read of Dr. Albrecht's passing. As a boy, I studied theory and composition privately with her in the 1970s. She taught me harmony, voice-leading, species counterpoint, Roman numeral analysis, figured bass, and much more. She fed my curiosity about old music and nurtured my passion for Bach. I couldn't have asked for a better teacher. To her family and close friends, I offer my sincere condolences.

Moonyeen played the organ music for Mary and my wedding about 56 years ago. If Mary was still alive she would certainly join me in praising Moonyeen and thanking her again.

Moonyeen was a great friend and colleague. She touched the lives of hundreds of students over her 37 years as a professor at Central Michigan University. All of us considered her a treasure in the School of Music.
