Terwilliger, Denise Haley 49; of Mt. Pleasant; passed away Sunday, March19, 2017, at McLaren Central Michigan after a year-long battle withcancer. A Funeral Mass for Denise will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 22, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Tom Held as celebrant.Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery with a luncheon to follow at Sacred Heart Parish Hall. The family will receive friends at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2 to 9 p.m. with the Vigil beginning at 8:30 p.m. Visitation continues at the church on Wednesday one hour prior to Mass. Memorial contributions may be made to Angel Wings Fund (P.O. Box 1435, Mt. Pleasant MI 48804-1435). Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and church. Denise was born December 6, 1967, in Midland,MI daughter of Arthur ‘Dennis’ and Judith K.(Allen) Stark. She graduated from Midland Dow High in 1986. She graduated from Central Michigan with a bachelor’s degree in science and later received an associate’s degree in nursing from Mid Michigan Community College. Denise married Michael Len Terwilliger on August 26, 1994 in Midland. She was employed as an RN at Central Michigan Community Hospital and also at the office of Dr. Larry Bennett. She was a member of Sacred Heart Parish and served on the Sacred Heart Academy School Board. She coached track at SHA and was an advocate for the March For Life in Washington, DC, having marched five times. Her life revolved around her family. She spent countless hours not only watching her daughters’ sporting events, but coaching them aswell. A kind-hearted woman, Denise was a devoted wife, mother, daughter and sister whom will be missed dearly by her family and friends. Denise is survived by her husband, Michael;four daughters, Riley, Hadyn, Anna, and Karis;her father, Dennis Stark of Midland; brother,Raymond (Cheryl) Stark of Grand Rapids; niece,Payton Stark; and mother-in- law, Vivian Terwilliger of Alma. She was preceded in death by her mother, Judith in 2011; infant son, BrettMichael in 2003; and father-in- law, William Terwilliger in 2014.
