Robert E. Bishop

On December 7th, 2020, Robert E. Bishop, passed away in Alma, Ml at the age of 77. Robert was born on February 15th, 1943 to Allert and Beulah Bishop of Martin, MI. He is an alumni of Kalamazoo Christian High School, Class of 1961. Following a long, multifaceted career in powersports and watercraft, Robert became a licensed General Contractor and owner of Rainbow Builders in Perrinton, MI, from which he retired. He married Sheila (Hoffer) on April 4th, 1989. Robert was a refined craftsman who made woodworking look effortless. He was a skilled artist who also enjoyed scenic lakeshore and aviary photography. He had a genetic passion for boats and life on the water that he shared with his family and hereditarily passed on to his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved his family dearly and his infectious laughter will always be remembered. Robert was preceded in death by his father, Allert, his mother, Beulah, brother, Gene, cousin, Doug, step-daughter, Sherry Ayers, two brother-in-laws James Brussee and Larry Krick. He is survived by his wife, Sheila of Ithaca, two sons Brian & Diana of East Tawas, Nicholas and Allison of Rainbow Lake, his daughter Stacy and Luke Holey of Rainbow Lake, four grandsons Samuel and Heather, Lucas Holey, Levin Holey, and Brandon, two great grandsons Owen and Dane, two sisters Marilyn Krick of Nokomis, and Sharon Brussee of Myakka.
