Gerald Thomas Adams

Gerald Thomas Adams, died on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at West Jefferson Hospital at the age of 91. He was born in Algiers, LA and was the 3rd of 7 children. Gerald soared in jazz music at a very early age as a bassist, but was also great on piano. He enlisted in the U.S. Army after high school graduation. Thereafter, he played at the Marriott Hotel, Commander's Palace, Palm Court, Preservation Hall and for many major events. He was recognized by the colorful suits, sunglasses, shoes and caps to match. He will be missed by many. Gerald leaves this earthly world to cherish his loving wife of 57 years, Inez and his devoted daughter, Deidre (Irving). Gerald was preceded in death by his siblings; Justin, Carl (Lorraine), Placide (Lois), Robert (Shirley), Odallie (Merlin), Calvin and parents, Placide and Dolly Adams and a host of nieces and nephews.
