Marshall Blackwell Obituary
Funeral services for Marshall Quinn Blackwell, 69, of Mangham, LA, will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, March 20, 2011, at Mangham Methodist Church with Bro. Marshall Sevier officiating. Interment will follow at Gwinn Cemetery in Mangham under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
Mr. Blackwell passed away March 17, 2011. He is preceded in death by his mother, Marjorie Reese and father, Charles Quinn Blackwell.
He is survived by his step mother, Margaret Blackwell; sons, Marshall "Mark" Blackwell, and Robert Blackwell and Cindy McGrew; daughter, Lauren Wood; grandchildren, Melissa Ceney, Annie Blackwell, and Bennett Blackwell; great-grandchild, Blaine Ceney; brothers, Robert Reese and C. Q. Blackwell; and sister, Bonnie Bennett.
An Attorney for many years in Monroe, and avid fisherman and hunter, Marshall will be dearly missed by many friends and family.
Pallbearers will be Tim Meredith, Andrew Prince, Michael Cummings, Michael Sivils, and David Standard. Honorary pallbearers will be Jarvis Thomas and members of Wooten Hollow Hunting Club.
Visitation will be held Saturday, March 19, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.

I was sad to hear about Mr. Blackwell's passing. I worked for him for 10 years in the 70's. He was quite a character. I have such fond memories of him. Especially him gauging how fast the cane grew from the morning to the afternoon, outside his office. I live in Baton Rouge and had lost touch for many years until about 3 or 4 months ago when I located his phone number and gave him a call. I'm so happy I was able to talk to him one last time. My prayers are with you, Mark & Robert, and the rest of the family.
