Helen Blazis Obituary

BLAZIS, HELEN JUNE; age 79; of Rochester Hills; November 13, 2012. Loving wife of Al for 55 years; dear mother of Patty (Jeff) Blazis-Voight, Jill (Michael) Sloan, and the late Robert Blazis; cherished Mimi of Kevin and Michael Sloan; sister of Patricia (the late Dr. William) McDonald, Louis Toby, and Bernard Toby. Known for having a wonderful way with children, June was an employee of the Rochester Community Schools SAC program for 14 years where she served as Lead Caregiver at Long Meadow Elementary School. June's passions included: reading, gardening, animals, and attending theater at the Fisher with Al. She will be remembered by all who knew her as a beautiful soul who listened without judgement and who loved boundlessly because she looked always for, and found, the good in others. Funeral Mass Saturday, November 17, 2012, Noon with an In State time of 11:30 a.m. at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 1400 Inglewood, Rochester. The family will receive friends Friday, 3 to 9 p.m. at the Potere-Modetz Funeral Home, 339 Walnut Blvd, Rochester. Suggested memorials to the Leader Dog for the Blind or Michigan Humane Society.
