F. Chalfant Obituary

CHALFANT, F. EARLE; age 78; November 22, 2012; a resident of Troy since 1971; passed away on November 22, 2012. Beloved husband of Esther (nee Bailey) Chalfant for 57 years; loving father of Katherine Michael Logan (Josh), Dawn Lee "Dee" McLaughlin (Michael) and Dale William Chalfant (Blesilda); dear grandfather of Cinnamon, Nina, Mary, Rebecca, Melissa, Rosanna and KenKen; great grandfather to Ethan; dear cousin of H. Duane Chalfant. Predeceased by his granddaughter, Katie and great grandson Nathan. Earle retired from the GM Fisher Body Tech Center as an Engineer in Charge, was a graduate of General Motors Institute in Flint, was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church-Troy, a member, actor and on the Board of Directors for Troy Players. He was also on the team that designed the Computer Guidance System for NASA's first manned Mercury Mission to space, loved spending time with his family and friends and will be missed by all the lives he touched. Visitation Sunday 2 to 8 p.m. at Price Funeral Home, 3725 Rochester Road (between Big Beaver and Wattles Roads, 248-689-0700) Troy. In state Monday, November 26, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. until funeral 10:30 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 37635 Dequindre Road (between Big Beaver and Wattles Roads) Troy, MI 48083.
