Alexandra Brueger Obituary

Brueger, Alexandra Nicolette November 9, 1984 July 30, 2016 Ally was our beloved, only child. She was kind, thoughtful, considerate. She had a witty sense of humor, but she was also a very serious-minded individual. She was an RN at Providence Park Hospital in Novi, Michigan. She was working on her master degree in creative writing which she would have achieved in April 2017 because writing was her passion, nursing was her profession. She graduated with high honors in all of her higher education degrees. Our sweet daughter was taken away from us in the most violent way. She was shot four times in the back while she was taking her daily 10 mile run on a dirt road in Rose Township. Her wish would have been to have all of her organs donated, but because of the senseless way she perished that was not possible. She was very humble, and would have been quite embarrassed by all of the attention this has caused. She was small in stature, standing 4’9”, weighing only 98 pounds but mighty in presence. We know that her life mattered to the people that she touched. Ally was the daughter of Franz and Nicolette Brueger of Holly. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday August 10, 2016 at St. Rita Catholic Church of Holly, with Father David Blazek, Celebrant. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Dryer Funeral Home, Holly. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Great Lakes Boxer Rescue. www.dryerfuneralhomeholly.com

What an inspiring young woman! I am so sorry about what has happened. It is senseless to lose a kind, good hearted, talented person like this.

My wife and I regularly saw and waved to her when she was out for her run, she always smiled and waved back, she was also a co-worker of my son's at the hospital where she worked and was greatly respected and loved there...this is a terrible loss for everyone.....may you rest in peace Alex.

I met Alexandra in one of our online classes. She was a very sweet person. Her writing was exceptional as she would write stories about her life. I noticed her name on the class rooster and I thought, oh goodie, Alexadra's in this class too.
I was truly looking forward to reading Alexandra's poetry.
Lord God please wipe any harsh memories away,
As Ally enters the gates of Heaven this day,
She touch so many,
Her heart was plenty.
I pray she rests,
always.

Ally was the most unique woman I'd ever known. Even as a teen, she was wise beyond her years, and I still think of the all witty things she said at random times in life. She was blunt and sassy, you always knew where you stood with her, and she could always be counted on to lift your spirits and make you laugh. Ally was more than just a victim of a vicious act of violence--she was a good person, a wonderful daughter, an author, and a future bestseller.
