Janet M. Carroll

CARROLL, JANET M. (nee McLEOD); age 75; passed away suddenly on Saturday, January 12, 2013; at Edward Hospital in Naperville. She was born September 2, 1937 in Alpena, MI. Beloved wife of Peter Carroll; loving mother of Cheri (Jim) Crockett, Peter (Stacy) Carroll and Patti (Al) Gustafson; adored grandmother of Kelly, Meghan and Allyson Crockett; Danielle, Shannon and Briana Carroll; Ian, Bridget and the late Michael Gustafson, treasured great grandmother of Eleanor; dear sister of Rosemary (Dennis) Putman and the late Donna (Jerry) Simmons and the late Michael McLeod. A Naperville resident from 1970 to 1998, Janet was a long time community volunteer, devoted member of St. Peter and Paul Church, and a secretary to Harold White of the Naperville Sun. Currently a resident of Gull Lake, Michigan, Janet is a member of the Gull Lake Country Club and St. Ann's Catholic Church in Augusta. An avid theater goer, gardener, and knitter, Janet also enjoyed travel, nature and boating with her beloved and infinitely patient husband of 55 years. Janet will be remembered for her vibrant spirit and enthusiastic energy. She leaves behind a legacy of unyielding devotion to faith and family. Janet's abundant gift of motherhood will forever serve as an inspirational example not only to her beloved children and grandchildren, but to her many nieces, nephews, friends and acquaintances. Visitation Wednesday, January 16, 2013, 9 to 10:15 a.m. at St. Margaret Mary Church, 1450 Green Trails Drive, Naperville. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow Wednesday, 10:30 a.m. at St. Margaret Mary Church, 1450 Green Trails Drive, Naperville. Interment will be private. A Memorial Mass will be held in the spring at St. Ann's Church in Augusta, Michigan. A luncheon will follow at Gull Lake Country Club. Date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Swifty Foundation, in which 100% of all donations support the work of finding a cure for pediatric cancer.
