Wanda Burr Obituary

BURR, WANDA N.; met her beloved Savior Jesus Christ face to face on Monday, February 25, 2013. Wanda was born in Racine, Wisconsin on June 30, 1920 to Maude and William Taylor. She moved to Oxford in October of 1936 and graduated from Oxford High School class of 1940. She was married to Harry E. Burr in June of 1941 until his death in 1995. Living during the Great Depression was a factor in teaching Wanda to live frugally. She valued people more than things. Wanda was very involved with her church Holy Cross Lutheran in Oxford where she had been a member for over 60 years. She loved her cats and crocheted many a colorful rag rug. Wanda is survived by only sister, Theda L. Gragg as well as four children: H. James Burr (Janice), William Burr (Kriss), Melodee Dunn (Mike), Mark Burr (Allison); 18 grandchildren 17 great grandchildren. Wanda loved her Lord and her family and will be dearly missed. We rejoice that she has "finished the race and is finally home". A Memorial Service will be held at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 136 S. Washington, Oxford, Saturday, March 2, 2013 at 11 a.m. Arrangements entrusted to Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors, Oxford. To leave an online condolence please visit
