Jerry Neal Jerome Edward Neal, 87, Of Tumwater, Washington, passed away on September 19, 2017, peacefully at home. The funeral service will be held at 12 PM on October 11, 2017 at St. Michael's Parish. A luncheon will follow. Graveside Service at Calvary Catholic Cemetery at 2:30 PM. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Forest Funeral Home. Jerry was born in Everett, Washington on January 30, 1930 but lived in Tulalip, Washington. His family moved to Lapwai, ID for 10 years then back to Tulalip, WA when he was 16. He graduated from Marysville High School, attended Central Washington College, served in the army during the Korean war and received an Associate's Degree from Edison Technical College. He worked at Boeing as a graphic artist for several years before starting his own commercial art business in 1963. Jerry was married to Eleanor J. Neal (Diamond) 32 years until her death in 1985. Jerry worked as a self-employed commercial artist for 45 years in Olympia and Tumwater, WA. He enjoyed writing poetry, music, telling tall-tales and spending time with family and friends. He was an active volunteer for many years at the St. Vincent de Paul. Jerry is survived by his wife Mary Neal; his two children Laura J. Neal and Richard M. Neal; his four grandchildren; Anna, Luke, Joseph, and Eleanor; his brother Tom C. Neal, Anne M. Raymond, Virginia L. Kohl, and Sarah E. Robischon; his nine great-grand-children and the rest of his relatives and friends. Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, Lucas C. Neal and Mary H. Neal; as well as his first wife, Eleanor Neal. Memorial donations may be given to St. Vincent de Paul Society at 1208 11th Ave SE, Olympia, WA 98501.
