Robert William Shillady

Robert W. Shillady of Doylestown Robert William Shillady of Doylestown, formerly of Lower Gwynedd, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at Neshaminy Manor in Doylestown after battling Parkinson’s Disease with courage, quiet strength and dignity. He was 79 and the husband of Lucille Garris Shillady. Robert was born in Reading, to the late William and Arlene (Miller) Shillady. He was an Air Force Veteran. Bob was a graduate of Penn State University, class of 1963 with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He began his career at General Dynamics in San Diego and earned a Master’s Degree from San Diego State University. He returned to the east coast and worked for American Electronics Laboratories in Colmar for many years and for Lucent Technologies in Allentown. Bob took great pride and joy in his daughters and loved spending time with his sons-in-law and grandchildren. He loved to travel and fish, but most of all, spending time with his family and friends. He was passionate about exercise and watching Penn State football. Bob also enjoyed early mornings and was a talented artist who painted in both oils and water colors. Many of his friends and family have his original works. Bob will be remembered as hard-working and disciplined, but also as a fun, gentle, kind and loving man. In addition to his wife, Bob is survived by his daughters: Lisa (Antonio) Dovali of Mexico City, Mexico and Paula (Michael) Foran of Doylestown; his five grandchildren: Michelle, Antonio, Alexander, Jacob and Emma, as well as his brothers: David (Ethyl) Shillady of Reading and William (Judy) Shillady of New York, NY. He is also fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to his memorial service, 11 a.m., Saturday, October 3, 2015 at Doylestown Presbyterian Church, 127 East Court Street, Doylestown where the family will receive guests from 10 a.m., until the time of the service.
