Dean Bradshaw

Mesquite, NV - On November 21, 2020, Dean Hampson Bradshaw, loving husband and father of seven children passed away at the age of 91, at his home in Mesquite, Nevada. Dean was born October 22, 1929 to Hampson Walters and Afton Perry Bradshaw in Tremonton, Utah. He served an LDS mission in England and graduated from the University of Utah. On August 22, 1952 he married Joanne Duncan and had four children. Dean later remarried Leanne Rowe and had one son. He remarried Antoinette Millard and had two children. He then married Mary Aniga on June 24, 1997 and enjoyed retirement with her in Mesquite, Nevada.

Dean began his professional work as a secondary school teacher. He taught American and World History, American Government, English, and Debate. As a specialist at the Utah State Office of Education he wrote and directed two-hundred TV programs for use in Utah's public schools, as well as in numerous other states across the United States. Thirteen of those productions won national or international awards for high quality production.

Later, he worked as an international consultant in TV and film production, doing work in Indonesia, Egypt, and Turkey. When he retired from consulting in 1998, he began writing. His educational background included: a B.S. degree in Education (with a teaching certificate) from the University of Utah; a M.S. degree with credentials in both Educational Psychology, and Televison and Motion Picture Production from the University of Utah. After which he received a P.H.D. in Television Arts from Columbia State University.

Dean raised his family in Salt Lake City while working as the Utah State Producer Director of Educational Television. During that time, he produced several programs for KUED. He later became the project manager to set up educational television programs for several countries, which gave him the oportunity to travel and live abroad. Dean loved history, traveling, teaching . He was an accomplished violinist and writer. He was well known for writing and publishing religious stories which was based on historical events.

Dean is survived by his beloved wife Mary Ann Bradshaw; one son and five daughters: Christine McCormick; Rebecca (Gary) Rogers; Cathlyn Bradshaw; Judith (Dan) Gustaftson; Cairo (Alex) Bradshaw all of Salt Lake City, UT; Tim Bradshaw of Phoenix, AZ; fourteen grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Rick and sister, Joycelyn Chugg.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, December 3, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. (MST)

at the Tonaquint Cemetery in St. George, Utah.
