AUNE HOLMSTROM The passing of Aune Holmstrom, age 95 years and nine months of Saskatoon, occurred on Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at the Extendicare Nursing Home. She is survived by her six children, Aileen (Robbie) Walls of Stettler, AB, Edwin (Hazel) Holmstrom of Saskatoon, Elmer and Iona Holmstrom of Sault Ste Marie, ON, Vivian Lesyk (Joe) of Bonnyville, AB, Marvin (Elaine) Holmstrom of Calgary and Archie (Willene) Holmstrom of Elliot Lake, ON; 23 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren and 36 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Esther Timchuk of Toronto and Ellie Frayn of Weyburn, SK; brother-in-law, Sulo Holmstrom of Outlook; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Matti and Liisa Pirness; her husband, Wayne Holmstrom; sisters, Linda Pirness and Sylvia Pirness; four brothers, William, George, Arvid and Elmer Pirness; grandson, Baby Walls; great-great-grandson, Baby McDonald; brothers-in-law, Arnie Holmstrom, Stanley Frayn and Peter Timchuk; and by sisters-in-law, Venla Spring, Emma Holmstrom and Esther Pirness. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, January 19, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Outlook, SK with Rev. Gene Grant officiating. Interment will take place at the Highland Cemetery, Rock Point, SK. Memorial donations may be made to The Extendicare Nursing Home, 2225 Preston Ave. S., Saskatoon, S7J 2E7.
