Leo Bauer Obituary

Leo W. Bauer, 92, passed away Saturday morning, January 5, 2019, at Signature Healthcare.

He was born in Pekin on July 7, 1926, graduated from Muncie Central High School, served in the US Navy during WWII, and attended Indiana Business College.

Mr. Bauer was an accountant for Ball Brothers until his retirement in 1991.

He was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church where he sang in the choir and also sang in a barbershop quartet. Leo enjoyed playing guitar, painting, and refinishing furniture.

Surviving are five daughters, Diane Brooks (husband, Don), Brownsburg, Karen Albertson (husband, Randy), Muncie, Lois Short (husband, Greg), Muncie, Marilyn Pitts (husband, Mike), Littleton, CO, and Margaret Ferrebee (husband, Brian), Yorktown; his grandchildren, Stephen, Rebecca, Jim, Scott, John, Marie, Joseph, Eric, Doug, Sharon, Andrew, Audrey, Natalie, Nicholas, Daniel, and David; thirteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Alberta Green and Deloris Vest, both of Muncie; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Otto Bauer; his mother and step-father, Edna and Byron Moore; his wife of sixty-six years, Patricia; and a granddaughter, Natalie Rose Ferrebee.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 10, 2019, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Elm Ridge Cemetery with military rites by the US Navy and Veterans of Delaware County.

Friends may call at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
