I always believed that Charlie would live forever. He was there when I started at Ivy Tech in the spring of 1991. No matter what anybody needed, or when they needed it, Charlie figured out a way to meet that need. He was always ready to listen to difficulties professional or personal, and ready to show how to live life according to the hand you were dealt. He was spiritual yet unconditionally humane. Ivy Tech has not been the same since he retired; I always used to joke with him about how, if I were within a mile of him, I didn't need a telephone, because he and I each had such loud voices. Charlie gave me a role model for a live cherished and well lived. My deepest sympathies to his surviving family.

I was saddened to hear about Charlie's passing. There were three things I always knew about Charlie: he loved and was so proud of his family; he was dedicated to the students and adjunct faculty at Ivy Tech, especially those who had evening classes; and he was always optimistic about the White Sox. He added something special to the lives of those who knew him. He will be missed.

I was a member of the Adjunct Faculty at Ivy Tech for 18 years in Muncie, Anderson and Marion. Charlie was the Evening Coordinator and was a blessing for all Faculty and students. Anything you needed, Charlie would get and bring to you. He was always laughing and pleasant to be around. We used to tease him about the Chicago teams not ever winning. I was really happy that Charlie lived to see his Beloved White Sox win the World series. Charlie was on cloud nine. He also saw his Bears win the Super Bowl, and The Cubs finally win the World Series. We had many wonderful discussions about baseball. Rest in Peace my friend. I was honored to be your friend and I am a better man for having known you. Ivy Tech was a better place because you were there.

Charlie and my late husband, John Warner, worked together at Ivy Tech. He was a treasured friend and a good man. I am sad to learn of his passing, and I send my sympathies to Mike and the rest of the family.

I worked with Charlie for ten years, and I retired 1993 as secretary of Instruction. He was a good soul and will be missed. Sadly, I haven't seen him for years. Michael and family and friends of Charlie have my deepest sympathy. God Bless You.
