Hope Carroll Robinson

Our beloved wife, mother, and friend was welcomed into the arms of her Savior on June 7, 2021.

Hope Carroll Robinson was born February 5, 1935 to Edna Pauline Austerud and Harold John Carroll in Oak Park, Illinois. She was raised in River Forest, IL and graduated from Oak Park River Forest High School in 1953. She attended Valparaiso University for 2 years and then transferred to Wheaton College, graduating in 1957 with a degree in Elementary Education. She taught elementary school and was on Young Life Staff in Indianapolis before obtaining her Masters in School Psychology and Reading from Butler University. She worked as a school psychologist in Indianapolis Public Schools, and Eastbrook, and Mississinewa Community Schools.

She met Leo Robinson while living in Indianapolis and they were married in 1969. They have 2 children. Lauri, born in Bloomington, IN, and Tim, born in Fort Wayne, IN.

Family and friends were very important to her and she loved to spend time with us all together. In addition to her family and friends, her main interests centered around her church and assisting international students attending Ball State University. She and Leo visited students and/or faculty in China, South Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, Australia, Thailand, Argentina, and Nepal. She lived her life in service to others.

She is survived by Leo Robinson, husband of 52 years, daughter Lauri Stanley and son-in-law Robert Stanley of Longmont, CO, and son Tim, daughter-in-law Tara Robinson, and granddaughter Emma of Chicago, IL.

Memorial Service will be held at Westminster Presbyterian Church on Friday June 11 at 2PM. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Bridges International

You are the best and most respectable person I have ever met.Your selflessness, greatness and enthusiasm changed me and made me better and better. Now I am trying to be a person like you. Hope, yes, her name says who she is. Always hope. And faith, and joy, and caring. I still remember having lunch with her at Applebees. Good words shared both ways - conversation. I felt special. Very much supported. I love what she has done in our community. I am so sorry that we all have to say good bye for now. I am sorry I can't make it to the funeral.

Hope is the most kind people I've ever met in my life, and she is the first American friend of mine. I'm a chinese scholar from Suzhou. I came to BSU in the summer of 2018.Hope helped my colleague Wan Fei and me with the furnitures. Then we became very close friends during next few months. We spent so many beautiful and memorable time together attending bible classes, having delicious meals and visiting friends' home.
I invited Ronbinsons to suzhou my hometown, so that we can see each other again. I thought she was such a healthy and outgoing, we should have the chance to have reunion.
I was so shocked when I got the message, and cried for a long time in my home. I wanted my son to see Hope some day,but now it's a dream.
I want to tell Hope this sentence which is
lines of an American movie ."Some of us get dipped in flat, some in satin, some in gloss. But every once in a while you find someone who's iridescent, and when you do, nothing will ever compare."
I DO.
