Rigba Wolfe Obituary

Rigba Conner Wolfe COLUMBIA - After 81 years of faithful service to the Lord, Rigba Conner Wolfe, finished his race on August 18, 2017. Born June 5, 1936, to Asbury and Julia Wolfe in Neeses, SC, he was the youngest of nine children, and was predeceased by his parents, three brothers, and one sister. Rigba gave his life to Jesus as an 18-year-old. He served in the United States Air Force for four years. He married Ruth Linderholm in 1960 and together they served the Lord for 57 years. He was the Physical Plant Director at Columbia International University for 36 years, retiring in 1998. He was ordained to the ministry in 1967 and served as a pastor of Beaver Creek Baptist Church and in prison ministry, youth ministry, as a Sunday School teacher, and host extraordinaire through the years! He will be remembered for living a life of generosity to all. He loved his wife and family well and lived an exemplary life of integrity and hard work, leaving behind so many sweet memories. He is survived by his wife, Ruth, six children, Brenda (Hub) Blankenship, Rigba Wolfe Jr., Scott (Kelli) Wolfe, Cindy (Don) Muncie, Beverly (Rudy) Colombo, and Lori (Trahern) Cook, as well as 16 grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 22nd, in Boyce Chapel, First Baptist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Richard A. Humphries, Rev. Hub Blankenship, and Rev. Scott Wolfe. Burial will precede the service at 10 o'clock in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. The family will greet friends following the service at Columbia International University, Alumni Center. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family. Pallbearers will be Hub III and Zac Blankenship, Jon and Walker Cox, Chase, Carson and Cooper Wolfe, Beege Colombo, Walt Cook and Conner Wolfe. Wolfe Family, so sorry to hear of the loss of a wonderful man. Uncle Rigba with his traditional, caring ways, but powerful demonstrations of goodness and love to so many will be with each of us always. May God be with you as they welcome home one of the best.

"Wild weekends" at the Wolfes were such a powerful Christian force for so many kids; and Mr. & Mrs. Wolfe were always the most patient, loving people to allow us to take over their home. And the food they prepared was superb. Such a tremendous loss for all of us down here on earth, but certainly heavens gain. To all you Wolfe's, thank you for sharing your folks with us; we're thinking of you and praying for you to have peace and understanding at such a sad time. ken lovelace

Rigba, I Think of you and your dad often. You and your dad were so helpful to me when I was getting C&B Drainage off the ground.
