Delmos Williams Obituary

Delmos Allen Williams COLUMBIA - Delmos Allen Williams was born in Elyria, Ohio on May 11, 1969 to the late Linda Lee Board and Joseph D. Williams. He passed away on August 13, 2017 at Palmetto Health Richland, surrounded by his loving family. "JD", as he was known, graduated from Elyria High School in 1988, after which he enlisted in the United States Air Force. After sustaining an injury while stationed in the Philippines in 1990, Delmos returned home to Elyria. In 1991, Delmos relocated to 1991, he moved to Columbia, South Carolina where he enrolled in Midlands Technical College (MTC). Delmos attended Central Piedmont Community College (CPCC), re-enrolled in Midlands Technical College and later transferred to Limestone College. In 1996, he returned to Elyria to convalesce after sustaining life-threatening injuries. Later that year, Delmos moved back to Columbia, South Carolina where he met his wife and the love of his life, Angela Denise King. Delmos and Angie had four daughters: Rasheeda Defoe, Jade' Jumper, Sanaa and Jordan Williams. Despite the decline of his health, Delmos continued to work various jobs. Although he battled several illnesses' Delmos never lost his sense of humor or his smile. Baptized at an early age, Delmos was raised in a family of faith; and was a member of The Church in Columbia, SC. He was committed to staying connected with his family and to connecting his children with each other. He would often take time to travel to Ohio and visit members of the Board and Williams' families several times a year. Delmos was predeceased by his mother and stepfather, Linda Lee and Joseph Williams. He is survived by his wife Angela (King) Williams, eleven children: DeJonna (Scott) Rakosky of Eaton, OH, Michael Allen Stockton of Manila, Philippines, Kayley Sas of Elyria, OH, Jordan Lawrence of Elyria, OH, Jasmine Viola (Eric) of Bowling Green, OH, Jasmine Shields of Butler, AL, DeForest D. Williams of Columbia, SC, Alisia Williams of Charlotte, NC, Sanaa and Jordan Williams also of Columbia, SC and Dakota Williams of Irmo, SC; three step-children: Darrien R. Holland, Rasheeda Defoe and Jade' Jumper all of Columbia, SC; his biological father Craig Williams (Denise) of Xenia, OH; twelve brothers and sisters: Chanda Melville (Eric) and Allissa Terrell of Atlanta, GA, Yolanda Jones of Lorain, OH, Ricardo Mendoza of Chicago, IL and Camee' Beyers (Ben) of McLean, VA, as well as, Yolanda (Andre) Ross, Keenan (Sarah) Williams, Jodie (Israel) Johnson, and Ebony (Kenneth) all of Elyria, Candace Williams of Lorain, OH, and Marcus and Anastasia Williams of Elyria, OH; as well as a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The homegoing service will be held Tuesday, August 22, 2017, 11:00 AM at Bostick-Tompkins Funeral Home with burial in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. So sorry to hear of his passing. We spent some nice times together recalling our service experiences. I had visited him several times while he was in the VA Hospital over the past few years. He was a fine Christian Man and I know he is with our God in Heaven.
