GENEVIEVE 'GEN' GROVE
GODFREY- Genevieve "Gen" Grove, 93, passed away at 4:45 p.m., Saturday, August 30, 2014, at Blu Fountain Manor in Godfrey.
She was born July 25, 1921, in Alton, Ill. the daughter of Walter and Theresa (Fahrig) Boschert.
She was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Godfrey and graduated from Marquette Catholic High School She married Willard "Lefty" Grove on Sept. 25, 1941, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alton.
In addition to her husband, she is also survived by a two sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas and Virginia Grove of Alton, Dennis and Diane Grove of St. Louis, and a daughter, Lisa Grove of Godfrey; six grandchildren and spouses, Diane and Al Adams of Godfrey, John and Elaine Grove of Godfrey, Robert Grove of Alton, Gina and Brad Miller of Naperville, and Sarah and B.J. Libich and Patrick Grove(Wendy Lashley), all of St. Louis; nine great-grandchildren, Nick and Andrew Adams, Caitlin, Megan and Renata Grove, and Mollie Grove, Audrey and Addison Miller, and Hannah Libich; several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Michael Grove; and a sister Dorothy Lewis.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of funeral services at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3, at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey with Father Steve Pohlman officiating. Burial will follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Godfrey.
Memorials may be made to the 5 A's Animal Shelter or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
