1930 - 2018
Harlan John Soppe age 88, Tuesday, October 2, 2018 Feridean Commons Senior Living Community. Retired Captain USAF, and retired from Muskingum Area Technical College as Dean of the Business School. Longtime parishioner of St. Pius X Catholic Church. He was a volunteer at Dominican Learning Center. Survived by wife, Clare Soppe; children, Susan (Mark) Portyrata, Marian Crary, Dave (Liz) Soppe, Jim (Allison) Soppe, Ellen (Mike) Sullivan, Paul (Francesca) Soppe, John Soppe; grandchildren, Catherine (John) Smith, Jonathan Portyrata, Jennifer Crary, Eric Crary, Alex Crary, Emily Soppe, Sarah Soppe, Brittany Soppe, Joshua (Kara) Soppe, Jacob (Michaela) Soppe, Patrick Sullivan, Monica Sullivan, Kevin Sullivan, Elizabeth Sullivan, Ann Marie Soppe; sisters-in-law, Angie Soppe and Doris Biermann; and other loving family and friends. Preceded in death by first wife Ann Soppe, daughter Karen Soppe, brother Dale Soppe, brothers-in-law Bernard (Betty) Tapke and David (Doris) Biermann. The family wishes to express its gratitude to the staffs of Feridean Commons and Kindred Hospice for their loving care of Harlan. Friends may call Sunday 2-5 PM, EVANS FUNERAL HOME, 4171 E. Livingston Ave. Funeral Mass Monday 10 AM, St. Patrick Catholic Church, 280 N. Grant Ave. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Ann H.
