IGNACIO "NACHO" HERNANDEZ JR. Ignacio was born to Ignacio and Cleopha Hernandez on April 27, 1922 in Highland California. He entered into heaven on July 19, 2015. He was 93 years old. He is survived by his brother Tony Hernandez, his daughters Cynthia "Sage" McCourt and Elena Ramirez, his grandsons Rodney Ortiz Sr., Robert Whitacre, Joseph McCourt and Levi Howard, his granddaughter Marcella Ortiz and his granddaughter-in-law Audrey Ortiz, 8 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. He worked most of his life in construction. He was also a caretaker for people with disabilities. He loved helping others. Ignacio was a loving and gentle father. He was a devoted grandfather who loved to spend time with his grandchildren. He was patient and kind and would help anyone in need. He loved all of his grandchildren -- his face would light up when the younger grandkids would come to visit. He attended Hoopa Assembly of God and loved his church family. He adored his dogs, Sugar, Nipper and Pretty Girl. Ignacio lived a quiet life; he was content with the natural beauty that surrounded him. He was a man of faith, even in tough times he never lost faith. He trusted God to the end and always encouraged us to do the same. The family would like to thank Dr. Benske and his staff at the Willow Creek Open Door Community Health Center for the excellent care and support they gave to him. The family is also grateful to Pastor John Armand and Hoopa Assembly of God for the kindness they have shown to him throughout the years and for coming to our home to give him his last communion. The family would also like to thank his In Home Services Provider Sean Guy for the care she gave him and we are thankful to all of our family and friends who have come to visit these last few months. Each time they came, Grandpa received that extra special care and attention that he loved and needed. Our beloved Dad and Grandpa holds a special place in our hearts and in our family. We love him, we miss his beautiful smile, his peaceful spirit and the way he would say "hello". We miss him every day, but we know he is in heaven now, pain free. Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. A memorial service will be held on September 12, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Hoopa Assembly of God, reception immediately following the service. Please sign the guestbook at
