Lindsay Wheeler Obituary

NORTHFIELD - Lindsay H. "Mike" Wheeler, 83, of Northfield, died Sunday, Feb. 15, 2015, at Mayo Healthcare.

He was born June 4, 1931, in Northfield, the son of Sumner and Ruth Wheeler. He was a lifetime Northfield resident and graduated from Northfield High School.

He had been a cook for the Northfield School District and for the Red Kettle Restaurant that he owned with his brother. He was past master of the Northfield Grange, had been a lister for the town of Northfield, and enjoyed hunting.

Surviving is his brother, David Wheeler, of Northfield.

Calling hours are from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18, at the Day Funeral Home in Randolph. Graveside services at West Hill Cemetery in Northfield will be announced at a later date. Contributions in his memory may be made to your favorite charity.

I got to know Mike a few years back when I bought a piece of land from him in Northfield. He was a very independent strong willed guy and made some awesome donuts! We had some good times talking politics, drinking coffee, and having donuts at his kitchen table.

I got to visit mike in the nursing home twice and was going to see him again when I learned of his passing.We had some good times together, and I also used to help him and his brother during hay season.RIP mike I will miss you. David let me know about the grave side service, I would like to attend.Reach me at 477-2605.
