Hugh Drew Obituary

H ugh J. Drew, 80, of the Hudson section of Plains Township, died Friday afternoon at the Veterans Hospital, Plains.
Born in the East End section of Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Joseph and Katherine Harkins Drew.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of the Plains American Legion, Joseph E. Conlon Post 558. He was a coal miner for many years and last worked for Kraft Associates of Wilkes-Barre, until his retirement.
He was a member of the Parish Community of Sacred Heart-St. Joseph’s Church, Plains, and Sacred Heart Holy Name Association. He was a former member of the Hudson’s Servicemen’s Club and the former Plains Auxiliary Police.
He was preceded in death by his sister Alice Klein and brothers; Robert and Joseph Drew.
Surviving are his wife of 59 years, the former Mary Binker; son and wife Ronald and Ellie Drew, Fredericksburg, Virginia; daughter and husband Mary Alice and Joseph Paraschak, Wilkes-Barre; grandson Christopher Drew and his wife Kerrie, Georgia, and great-granddaughter Hailey Marie Drew; along with nephews and nieces.
The funeral will be held Monday at 9 a.m. from the Corcoran Funeral Home, 20 South Main St., Plains, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 in Sacred Heart Church Plains. Interment will be in the Parish Cemetery, Plains.
Friends may call Sunday 5 to 8 p.m.

Aunt Mary,

Sorry for your loss.
