John Joseph Malone, devoted husband and father, is watching over his family. The angels came to reunite him with his beloved wife, Roberta Mary Malone, on Feb. 16, 2021. She left to prepare a place for him on Dec. 27, 2020.
He was born on Aug. 20, 1932, the son of John and Marion (Moyer) Malone. He married the love of his life, Bertcha, on Feb. 27, 1954, and they will celebrate their 67th wedding anniversary this month. Together they raised their four children, Deborah Malone (Chuck) Ranck, Kathryn Malone (Art) Hengler, John (Gail) Malone and James (Beth) Malone.
Remembering their Pop Pop are grandchildren, Megan (Michael) Thurston, Matthew (Lauralee) Duffy, Mackenzie (Josh) Hengler, Riley (Maria) Hengler, Rachel Morris, Colleen Malone, Andrew Malone, Sarah Malone and great-grandchildren, Cassidy, Natalea, Lily, Emily, Andrew, Robert, Amber, Jake and Abby.
John was a quiet man of strength and unwavering love for his family. He always put his family first and was the most unselfish man you could ever know. He loved his one liners and could always make us laugh. He was a proud Army veteran, serving active duty, then 30 years in the Army Reserve Corps of Engineers.
John retired as the Supervisor of Buildings and Grounds at Crestwood School District. He went on to enjoy traveling, cruises, biking and walks on the beach with Roberta. Dad and Mom were avid Phillies fans and enjoyed watching countless games in their screen house.
He leaves behind his big brother, Gervase (Gloria) Malone, sister and brother-in-law, Mary (John) Dopp, brother and sister-in-law, Anthony (Anne) Konn, and many cherished nieces and nephews.
Dad devoted untold hours of his time and talents to St. Jude's Church. The family respectfully requests that donations be made in his name to St. Jude's (420 S. Mountain Blvd., Mountain Top, PA 18707).
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 1, 2021, at St. Jude's Church in Mountain Top, with all social distancing and mask requirements followed. Internment will follow at Calvary Cemetary, Drums. Livestreaming of the Mass is available at the parish website at stjc.org.
The Malone family would like to express their eternal gratitude to the staff at Heritage Springs Memory Care for the compassionate care they provided to our Mom and Dad.

Jim and Family.
Our sincerest condolances on the passing of John.I got to know him when I coached you in Little League baseball and when I was able to help him with projects at St Jude and later at Crestwood. I knew him as always being very dedicated and caring in whatever he did.
May he rest in peace

My Condolences to the Malone family. Your Dad was such a gentleman. I went to school with John. Your dad would joke that my mother- Joan Madden- Math teacher at Crestwood- would ware out the blackboards like no one else.
Prayers to all of the family.
