James P. "Jim" Malone, 87, of Shady Oaks in Middletown, passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2026. Jim was born in Richmond Boro, NY to the late Harry and Frances (Sullivan) Malone. He grew up on Staten Island and received his education through Wagner College and Staten Island Community College.

He was a communicant of The Church of St. Catharine in Holmdel where he also served for many years as an usher. Jim retired as an engineer in fiber optics from 3M after a long career.

Jim was a caring and quiet soul who was always eager to lend a hand. While residing at Shady Oaks, he served his community as Treasurer of the Community Board. Jim demonstrated impeccable detail and his ability to complete tasks at a high level was in great demand as he spent much of his time helping residents with minor repairs and household issues. He and his wife Barbara enjoyed taking bus trips up and down the East Coast and enjoyed making new friends along the way.

In addition to his parents, Jim was predeceased by his sisters; Frances Vitomski and Patricia Malone, brothers; Charles, Raymond, Harry "Buddy" and Richard.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Barbara (Stevens) Malone, sisters-in-law; Marjorie Henderson of Fl and Dorothy Roberts of Middletown and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions in Jim's memory may be made to St. Vincent's de Paul Society. Please make checks payable to SVDP at St. Catharine's Church and mail to St. Catharine's Church 108 Middletown Road Holmdel, NJ 07733 and please write "In Memory of James P. Malone" in the memo of your check.
