Janice Ray Malone

Janice Ray Malone, 66, of Toms River, New Jersey, passed away on February 5, 2026, at home.

Janice was born on November 4, 1959, in Plainfield, NJ. She was known for her outgoing, sweet nature and her quick wit! She was a beautiful sister and generous and compassionate to everyone she met and befriended.

Her village of friends spanned decades, as she, and her husband, Walt, had many adventures with them, including tubing the Esopus, camping, and riding motorcycles. She loved hiking, swimming and Zumba, and enjoyed attending music festivals with friends.

Jan attended Ocean County College and received her associate's degree. In her professional career, she was a Project Manager and Industrial Specialist at the Naval Air Systems Command, Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, NJ.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Walter Skupski, Jr., her parents, Robert Frederick Malone and Jean Beck Malone, and her brother, Robert Frederick Malone, Jr.

Janice is survived by her sister, Nancy Jean VanSuetendael and her brother-in-law, Richard Lee VanSuetendael, her sister-in-law, Emily Malone, her niece, Melissa Malone and Melissa's fiancé, Brian Jeannin, and their son, Keith, and a host of extended family and dear friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, 27 February 2026 at Higgins Memorial Home with a repast directly following the service at The American Hotel in Freehold.
