Aliquippa - A devoted mother and grandmother, Antonetta Avolio, 85, of Aliquippa, passed away peacefully, following an extended illness, Thursday, May 20, 2021, in her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Born January 2, 1936 in Sulmona, Italy, a daughter of the late Oresto and Carmella (Tirabassi) Centofanti, she was a member of St. Titus Catholic Church in Aliquippa.
Antonetta immigrated to America first to Youngstown, Ohio, then to Aliquippa, her lifelong home.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ovidio Avolio.
She is survived by her only son, David Traficanti and special daughter-in-law, Cathy, and the light of her life, her grandson, Zachary.
Antonetta was a talented seamstress and made lifelong friendships through her work. She was a dedicated retired employee of Aliquippa Hospital, with many years of service.
Friends will be received Monday from 10am until the time of service at 11am at TATALOVICH FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 2205 McMinn St, Aliquippa, PA, 15001.
Entombment will follow at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery, Hopewell Twp.
She will be dearly missed and will be fondly remembered as a gentle, loving, and generous lady who loved unconditionally and in return was loved by many.
The family would like to thank the staff at Gallagher Hospice, especially, Andrea, Brandon, Amy, Joann, Jocelynn, Jamie, and Dave. They are truly angels here on earth.
