Gregory Anderson Obituary

Gregory E. Anderson
54, of Tuscarawas, passed away on Thursday, June 20, 2013 at University Hospital in Cleveland after a brief illness. Born April 28, 1959 in Dennison, he was a son of Larry E. and Carolyn J. (Garrett) Anderson of Uhrichsville.
On May 7, 1993, Greg married Andrea J. (Young) Anderson with whom he celebrated 20 years of loving marriage. In addition to his parents and wife, he is survived by five daughters, Heather (Bobby) Fair of New Philadelphia, Megan Anderson of Bowerston, Trista Morris of Gnadenhutten, and Whitney and Brooke Anderson of the home; four grandchildren, Kaden Devore, Bella Beitzel, and Ethan and Riley Fair; a brother, Tim Anderson of Bolivar; a sister, Carrie (Kiley) Smith of Uhrichsville; father-in-law, William Young of Canton; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins; and a host of dear friends. He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Sally Young, and his grandmother-in-law, Jean "Gummy" Watt. Greg was a 1977 graduate of Claymont High School before attending Muskingum College. He was a lifelong resident of the area and attended Park Christian Church in Dennison with his family. Greg began his 27 year career with Western and Southern Financial Group as a salesman in their Coshocton office, was promoted to Sales Manager in Chillicothe, and then to District Sales Manager in the Coshocton and Dover offices. His greatest working achievement was making #1 District Sales Manager in the company in 2006. Greg will be remembered for living his life to the fullest, going to every AC/DC concert that he could, as well as local shows by Badstone, passionately rooting for The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cleveland Indians, Browns and Cavaliers, fishing whenever he got the chance and, especially, watching his daughter, Brooke, play softball. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Services for Greg, officiated by Trent Ross, will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, June 24, in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday. Daddy,
This still seems so unreal to me! You were an awesome Dad, one who would never judge a situation but always had positive advice to give! Who will I turn to when I need a good talk or cry! You were always there to listen. Always encouraging me to do better for myself because you "know what I deserve!" Nothing will ever fill the void in my broken heart, for we never get over a loss like this, just learn how to deal with you no longer being here! Your memories will remain with me forever & I will love & miss you always! <3 Your Little Girl

Just talked to Greg a few weeks ago at Tony's on his way to work. A great guy, a proud father, and far too young to be gone. To his family, hang on to the good times and memories you shared.

Living on south water street when I was a young man it was a great time going out the road and playing sports with Greg and the rest of the gang out that way! Years later it was still a lot of fun during fantasy football and just recently standing at the fence with Greg during Claymont softball games. Whatever involved Greg always involved laughter. Will miss you!

A longtime friend, classmate, and teammate. We grew up discovering life together in Uhrichsville, which was our world at the time. As we aged our worlds expanded and new experiences came to light. Now with the passing of Greg, the world seems to have contracted and the lights are more dim. I miss you, buddy

My condolences go out to the Anderson family. Greg and I have been friends and teammates for years along with his brother. Greg had the best move to pick a base runner off at 1st base I have ever seen to this day. We had a lot of fun growing up on and off of the field, especially when we he was the pitcher and I was the catcher or played 1st base. You will be missed by all, RIP my friend.

Greg, you will be greatly missed. You were always such a wonderful father, and I will always remember your smiling face and your laughter. You were always at the girls softball games, either as a coach or just to support them. I will always remember you having the gentleman at the Claymont field to give me a ride on his cart back to my car because you were worried about me having to walk, and I will always remember you calling me grandma. Thank you for being the person you were. God Bless You and Keep You.

I have known Greg for a long time, my family and I are sorry to hear of his passing away, one memory I had is I stopped by his apartment one morning in January of 1986. It was one of those you never forget moments, we watched the Space Shuttle Challenger explode on live TV. Rest in peace
