Mark Tharp Obituary

Mark Alan Tharp
58, of Strasburg passed away Thursday, April 25, 2013 at the Community Hospice House following a six month battle with cancer. Born on Aug. 5, 1954 in Nelsonville, Ohio he was the son of Raymond and Glenna Cox Tharp. His father precedes him in death.
In 1972 he graduated from New Philadelphia High School. On Feb. 29, 1976 he married the love of his life, Judy Limbacher, who survives. Mark was employed at Giant Eagle where he worked in the meat department for the past three years. He retired from the Strasburg Volunteer Fire Department after many years of service. He enjoyed helping with the annual Strasburg Ox Roast. He also enjoyed golfing; but above all, he loved spending time with his family and attending kids and grandkids sporting events.
In addition to his wife and mother, he will be sadly missed by his son, Matt (Tiff) Tharp of New Philadelphia; daughter, Sara (Paul) Cole of New Philadelphia; three grandchildren, A.J. and Grace Tharp, and MaKenna Cole all of New Philadelphia; sisters, Lori (David) Miller of Stone Creek, Jill (Mike) Cargnel of New Philadelphia; brother, Ray Jr. (Brenda) Tharp of Dover; father and mother in-law, Ed (Florence) Limbacher of New Philadelphia, sisters in-law, Nancy McNutt of New Lexington, Diana (Pat) Gibson of New Philadelphia, Sharon Beahm of Texas; former brother in-law, Karl Beahm of Texas; along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A celebration of Mark's life will take place at Dover Alliance Church on Monday, April 29, 2013 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Rick Rose officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Union Cemetery in Strasburg. Friends are invited to call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover on Sunday, April 28, 2013 from 4-7 p.m. Those unable to attend, or who would like to share a fond memory of Mark may do so by visiting the "Obituaries & Flowers" link on the funeral home's website. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Community Hospice, 716 Commercial Ave, New Philadelphia, Ohio 44663, or Dover Alliance Church, 228 E. 3rd St., Dover, Ohio 44622.
