MARK TROTTER Obituary

Pastor Mark Gregory Trotter

of Dallas, Georgia and formerly of New Philadelphia, entered into the presence of the Lord on his 64th birthday, Saturday, February 20, 2021. For the past months, Mark had gracefully and courageously fought a battle with cancer. Born in Miami, Florida on February 20, 1957, Mark was a son of the late Albert Franklin and Peggy Delores (McCullers) Trotter and attended Miami Carol City Senior High School and graduated from Dade Christian school, Hialeah, Florida. Mark earned a Bachelor's Degree in Theology from Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri and soon began a career of pastoring, mentoring, serving, and teaching others about the love of Jesus Christ. A man of true passion for all those around him, Mark lovingly poured out his knowledge and faith in the Lord to countless souls throughout his lifetime. He deeply enjoyed his 25-year career with the First Baptist Church at New Philadelphia and later felt the calling to join the Northwest Bible Church in Hillard, Ohio where he spent eight years as the Teaching Pastor and since 2015 has served as the Associate Pastor of ONE Baptist Church in Douglasville, Georgia. In 2016, while focusing on what he called his four passions of ministry: Ministers, Marriages, Men and Missions, Mark answered God's calling and alongside other pastors developed the Passion Center for Pastors, a mission in Malawi, Africa which has since trained over 1000 pastors during a three-year Bible training course for pastors which has expanded to eight different regions. Three times a year, Mark was able to visit the students during in person conferences and throughout the rest of the coursework would write and produce material and send it overseas to be introduced and taught. Mark was also able to publish three books, two Volumes of 52 Weeks of Pursuit and a third book, The Keys of Bible Study. Mark's outgoing, fun-loving, and deeply spiritual presence will be missed greatly by those who called him a member of their family.

He leaves behind his wife of nearly 42 years, Sherry L. Trotter of Dallas, Georgia; his son, Justin (Morgan) Trotter of Holly Springs, Georgia and Jacie (Justin) Higgenbotham of Dover, Ohio; his grandchildren: Birkley, Judson, and Loxley Trotter, and Jaden, Jantz, and Jett Higgenbotham; a sister, Patti Trotter of Cocoa, Florida; his mother-in-law, Anna Marie Love of Sparta, Missouri; and nieces and nephews, and countless "brothers" and "sisters" in Christ. In addition to his parents, Mark was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Trotter; a sister, Susan Park, and his father-in-law, Leonard Love.

The family will greet guests on Friday, February 26, 2021, from 4-7 PM in the First Baptist Church at New Philadelphia. A celebration of Mark's life will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2021, at 11 AM in the First Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the East Avenue Cemetery at New Philadelphia. Mark had positioned his life to become a resource for pastors and to provide written resources for churches with a view toward sound doctrine and our ultimate accounting at the judgement seat of Christ. The family asks that those who wish to help continue this mission may direct contributions to Passion Center for Pastors, with the Memo: WordStrong, c/o ONE Baptist Church, P.O. Box 609 Hiram, Georgia, 30141. Those wishing to do so may send the family a personal condolence in remembrance of Mark by visiting the funeral home's website at:

I want to offer my sincere condolences to the Trotter Family, during the passing of Pastor Mark . Mark was willing to answer the call, that God intended for him in life by the grace of God. God gave Mark a willingness to spread the Gospel wherever and whatever God chose for him. I believe that Mark received the best gift ever. Eternal Life . I attended
Northwest bible church. I really got into Mark 's preaching and also word strong bible studies. I would ask about him often, even in the past month or so, really missing the void, but knowing you all were being obedient to God. I believe you will be blessed . My husband and I are thinking of you all at this difficult time. My prayers are with all of you.

I just ran across this notice by accident and I'm so very grieved to read the news. Mark was my favorite pastor at Northwest Bible in Hilliard Ohio for 7 years. I loved every one of his teachings and especially the word strong series he did on Revelation. In fact my men's group where I'm at now is going through it now. Mark will be missed even from afar and his ministry has impacted so many people. May his family be taken care of and blessed and held close during this time of grieving. My heart goes out to you all. Agape love.

i meet you number years ago when you came and preached in Blue Springs Missouri, went to several conferences you was at, I asked you to pray for my daughter, in which you graciously did, even had a one on one prayer with me, uplifting her, that meant a lot to me, we received answer prayer, she is home now, and doing awesome. Mark you encouraged me in many ways, your style of preaching was worthy to are Savior, in your own and unique style, I loved it, it related on how I can relate to messages, plain and simple. Mark you are a tremendous man and teacher of are Savior, your smile and encouragement will be missed, but I did learn from you and what you taught me, is still with me, thanks my friend Jim Carroll Jr Phil 4:13 Shirley and colleen Carroll

A rare find Pastor Mark Trotter was to our family. What a blessing! Mark dove deep into God's word and made his audience appreciate the Scriptures so much more. His teaching has been the gold standard for us since we first got to know him at Northwest Bible Church in Hilliard, Ohio. He was truly a man of the Word. We thank God for Pastor Mark.
We feel the pain of seeing him leave too soon but we know God has received him into His eternal home forever. Our condolences to Sherry and the family. The Lord assures us a time will come when we who know Christ as Savior and Lord will rejoice again and forever in His presence. We will see Mark again. Hallelujah!
Thank you, Lord, for showing us what You can do with a man who completely surrenders to You.

My heart is heavy with the loss of this wonderful man and great teacher of The Word. I rejoice that Pastor Mark is no longer in pain and sickness and is celebrating his final reward with Our Precious Lord. May all that feel this great loss of his physical presence be filled with the Love and Peace of Our Glorious Savior. Pastor Mark touched thousands of lives with his messages and true understanding of The Gospel. I was blessed to have been one whose life was changed and enriched by this gifted servant. I was blessed as a member of First Baptist to have participated in his 52 Weeks Of Pursuit and so many other wonderful teaching. I continue to listen and learn from his recorded messages which have taught and nurtured my Walk With Christ. Thank you Pastor Mark for all the time, hard work and enthusiasm you gave to bring The Word To Life!! You will be missed but I know this is not goodbye but just a separation till we are joined at the Glorious Day Of The Lord. Sherry and family, thank you for sharing Pastor Mark with us and may The Lord wrap you in his Loving Arms and fill you with his comfort and peace. Thank You Lord for the Blessing of Sharing this man’s journey!!!!
